Overview

What this actually involves

With no key at all, the key has to be generated from the vehicle's own data rather than duplicated. We retrieve or decode the key code, cut a new blade, and program it to the immobilizer at the vehicle. Because the missing key is unaccounted for, we recommend erasing it from the car in the same visit.

  • All keys lost is its own discipline

With nothing left to copy, the key is generated from the vehicle's own data: the key code retrieved or decoded from the locks, a blade cut from scratch, and a transponder enrolled with the immobiliser through the diagnostic port. It is the automotive job people are most often told requires the dealership — with the tow, the wait, and the booking that entails. It does not: the entire operation happens at the parked vehicle, and it ends with the engine running.

  • The lost key gets dealt with too

Somewhere, your old key still exists — dropped in a parking lot, left in a coat, taken. Because it is unaccounted for, we recommend erasing it from the immobiliser in the same visit: whoever holds it is left with a shape in metal that no longer starts anything. This is also why the ownership check on an all-keys-lost job is strict and non-negotiable — the service that can make you a key from nothing is precisely the one that must never do it for someone else's car.

The visit

How the visit goes

Start to finish, so nothing on the day is a surprise.
  1. Step 1: Prove the vehicle is yours

Photo ID and registration or equivalent, checked before any work — strictest on exactly this job, for reasons that protect you.

  2. Step 2: Retrieve the key code

From the vehicle's data or decoded from a lock — the specification the new blade is cut to, no old key required.

  3. Step 3: Cut and program from scratch

Blade cut to code, transponder enrolled with the immobiliser at the vehicle, tested through doors and ignition.

  4. Step 4: Erase the lost keys

The missing keys are removed from the immobiliser's memory, so finding your old key stops being worth anything to anyone.

Included

What to expect

  • No tow required — the work happens where the car is sitting

  • The lost key is erased from the immobilizer, so whoever finds it cannot start your vehicle

  • Photo ID and proof of ownership required, which is precisely the step that stops someone else having a key made to your car

Questions

Asked before calling

The questions this job actually gets, answered the way they would be on the phone.

Yes. The key is originated from the vehicle itself — its key code and immobiliser — rather than copied from anything. That is the normal form of this job, not a special case.
